George Shamiyeh is a Director at Forward Risk, where he manages and conducts global investigations in support of corporate contests, risk advisory matters, and investment and operational due diligence. He is a seasoned compliance and investigations professional with significant experience in identifying and mitigating risks arising from corruption, fraud, and conflicts of interest. George has worked closely with local partners throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, and East and Southeast Asia, and as a native Arabic speaker, he has led or assisted on several high-profile investigations in the Middle East region.
Prior to joining Forward Risk in 2018, George served as a Senior Manager at a DC-based due diligence firm, where he led enhanced due diligence investigations for various Global Fortune 500 corporations and their counsel, working on hundreds of equity capital markets transactions. Earlier in his career, George was a researcher at the Institute for Middle East Studies at George Washington University. He also previously served as an intern in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.
