Megan Cansfield is an Associate at Forward Risk and Intelligence. Prior to joining Forward Risk, she worked with the U.S. Department of State in a variety of roles, including serving as a Chinese Foreign Policy Analyst for U.S. Embassy Beijing and a Chinese Social Media Analyst for U.S. Consulate Guangzhou’s Fraud Prevention Unit. She also interned with the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies and other futures think tanks and strategic advisory consultancies.
Megan formerly worked, lived, and studied in China as a Boren Scholar, Fulbright Scholar, and Yenching Scholar. She is professionally proficient in Mandarin.
Outside of work, Megan is a yoga enthusiast, avid traveler, and engaged member of the effective altruism community. She enjoys reading, writing speculative fiction, and playing video games in her free time, especially tactical RPGs and visual novels.
