Associate

Overview

Forward Risk is seeking motivated researchers to conduct investigative due diligence and public records investigations for a wide range of financial, corporate, and legal clients. Successful candidates will utilize qualitative analysis and open-source investigative tools to draft reports that clients will use for pre-investment and operational due diligence, candidate vetting, litigation and arbitration support, and research into companies and individuals, among other bespoke engagements.

Associates are responsible for the entirety of their research process, report writing, and ensuring that quality reports are delivered to our clients. We anticipate that Associates may also take on other internal management or business development projects that may arise according to their specific career interests and expertise.

This position requires a highly motivated candidate with excellent research and writing skills, a robust analytical ability, and a strong commitment to advancing within our organization. Requirements

  • Excellent English-language writing skills
  • Familiarity with open-source and public records research in the U.S.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and efficiently and accurately summarize information from multiple sources
  • Capacity to adapt to new situations and accept/apply feedback in a professional manner
  • Intellectual curiosity combined with elite critical thinking, research and writing skills 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, be attentive to detail, and meet deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and demonstrated desire to grow within our research and investigations team
  • Professional working proficiency in a foreign language (reading, writing) is a plus
  • Professional background in finance, law, journalism, and/or interest in conducting source interviews are a plus

Education and Professional Experience

  • Undergraduate or (preferably) graduate degree with an emphasis on research and writing skills; including international relations/affairs, journalism, political science, law, or other related areas of study
  • Candidates with one to three years of experience are eligible for the Associate role. Past experience in research and writing-oriented roles is a must; past experience within the due diligence and investigations industry is a plus
  • Candidates for the Associate role will be based out of Forward Risk’s Washington DC office under a hybrid remote/in-person working schedule.
