Associate

Overview

Forward Risk is seeking experienced researchers to conduct U.S.-focused investigative due diligence and public records investigations for a wide range of financial and legal clients. Successful candidates will have at least 12 months of experience at an investigations firm, and have demonstrated success in performing open-source research and investigations.

This position requires a highly-motivated candidate with a strong analytical ability and a desire to develop as an investigative researcher. Associates are responsible for the entirety of the research process, report writing, and ensuring that quality reports are delivered to our clients. We anticipate Associates will also take on client management duties as well as other internal projects that may arise. As Forward Risk is an emerging player in the industry, Associates will need to be highly adaptive and able to take on an array of responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Strong English-language writing skills
  • Proficiency in open-source and public records research
  • Familiarity with U.S. legal databases, and ability to quickly comprehend and summarize complex litigation
  • Ability to quickly and effectively summarize information from multiple sources and communicate ideas
  • Capacity to adapt to new situations and accept/apply feedback in a professional manner
  • Intellectual curiosity combined with research skills
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Professional working proficiency in a foreign language (reading, writing) is a plus
  • Experience conducting investigations in support of pre-investment/M&A transactions or corporate contests is preferred

Education and Professional Experience

Undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis on research and writing skills: International Relations/Affairs, Journalism, Political Science, Law, or other related areas of study.

Candidates with 1-3 years of previous industry experience are eligible for the Associate role. We are not currently considering entry-level hires, or other candidates without direct investigations industry track records.
